There has only been one actual Ransomware attack against macOS / OS X to date, which involved a few people who downloaded a hacked version of the Transmission application.
Most unwanted experiences are caused by something other than malware and many things don't involve anything on your Mac. I currently have Clam X, but it has been unable to find the virus.īobTheFisherman advise is paramount here as almost nobody except a few of those involved in the first discussion (over three years old) will even see your question, so start a new discussion and describe in great detail what you are seeing without assuming you have some hidden malware. Also 2 other MacBook Pro owners in my office have been attacked by ransomware.
I currently have have had several viruses in the past and currently have one that is hidden.
